An all-day family-fun event
Grace Cottage’s Fair Day last year was a great success.
TOWNSHEND- Grace Cottage Hospital Fair Day happens on Saturday, August 4. This free all-day, family-friendly event runs from 9 am to 5 pm, with activities to please the whole family including a live all-day auction; a birthday parade with dancing stork and bagpipes (10 am); bargain booths with housewares, books, plants, jewelry, and more; bingo; free pony rides; face painting; lots of food including fried dough, ice cream, burgers, fried chicken, watermelon, and gourmet options, as well as a homemade pie sale; an arts and crafts show (held in the Townshend Church), free entertainment; children’s games and costumes; raffles; and more.
The live auction, led by professional auctioneer Kit Martin, is an annual highlight. Hundreds of items have been collected this year including fine art, antiques, farm and garden equipment, quilts, rugs, lamps, and so much more. Preview begins at 9 am, auction begins at 9:30 am, and runs until all items are gone.
