Abenaki artifact library talk
WARDSBORO- On Tuesday, December 11, at 7 pm, at the Wardsboro Library on Main Street, there will be an Abenaki artifact presentation with Chief Roger Longtoe Sheehan.
Sheehan is chief of the Elnu Abenaki Tribe, based in southern Vermont. He and his wife Linda will talk on various Abenaki art and Indian lore at the library. The Elnu Tribe is one of four Abenaki recognized Vermont state tribes. It has its own government and bylaws. Their mission is to preserve and continue their cultural heritage through historical lectures and storytelling, singing, dancing, and traditional craft making. Sheehan and his wife plan to open a shop in Jamaica in the near future.
