Town of Wardsboro


The residents and property owners of the Town of Wardsboro and all other interested parties are notified that the Wardsboro Selectboard will hold a public hearing at the Wardsboro Town Office at 7 pm, on Tuesday, May 21, to receive and consider comments on adopting the planning commission’s “Town of Wardsboro, Vermont Proposed Town Plan” with a one page document titled “Corrections & Changes to Make in Proposed Wardsboro Town Plan 2019” and which, if adopted, will replace the town plan that will expire June 16, 2019.

It is the intent and purpose of the Town Plan to encourage reasonable measures for promoting the general health, safety and welfare of the Town by providing the means and methods for appropriate development and to prevent the effect of potential problems.  

The Town Plan affects the entire area of the Town of Wardsboro.

The most significant changes proposed to the new town plan include adding entirely new sections for “Forest Blocks and Habitat Connectors,”   “Flood Resiliency Plan,” and “Energy.”  In addition, the current conservation district is proposed to encompass almost twice as much land, changing the minimum lot size from two acres to 25 acres.  

The section headings of the proposed Town Plan include the following:

-Community Facilities and Services
-Compatibility with Other Plans
