Wilber receives top dental assistant award

WILMINGTON- Karen Wilber has received the 2019 “Outstanding Dental Assistant” award from the Vermont Dental Assistants’ Association.  The staff at Deerfield Valley Dental Care was not surprised that, out of hundreds of nominations, she was the top choice. Her dedication and commitment have been unrelenting since Wilber first met Robert Ruhl, DMD, while a student 17 years ago.
Wilber has continued to grow at Deerfield Valley Dental Care, taking on new challenges, such as becoming an implant coordinator, completing a basic equipment repairs course at the Yankee Dental Conference, providing ongoing clinical training to other staff and team members, and serving as assistant OSHA coordinator.
Nominated for this award by Dr. Lou Beaudette and Ruhl, who  said  that her depth of knowledge and skills are deep within the dental field. She is an indispensable part of the practice, Ruhl said, he looks forward to working with her every day, and could not imagine a more fitting candidate for this honor.
Wilber has been a member of the American Dental Assistant Association since 2001. She graduated from McCann Technical School in North Adams, MA, in 2002. She passed the Dental Assisting National Boards in 2011, and was recently nominated and accepted to be a board member of the Vermont Dental Assistant Association.
