Summer hoops camps return

WHITINGHAM - The 25th annual Deerfield Valley Basketball Camp for boys and girls entering grades five through nine will be held from 1 to 4 pm at the Twin Valley Middle High School Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 2.  Camp director is Buddy Hayford. Camp staff will include high school and college players.
The daily schedule includes the teaching of skills such as ball handling, shooting, dribbling, defending, passing, screening, and rebounding all taught in a variety of situations.  All campers receive a custom T-shirt and basketball. In addition, campers at TVMHS will have the opportunity to use the newly-acquired “Dr. Dish” for intensive shooting practice.
The fourth annual Wildcat Cub Basketball Camp will be held at the Old School in Wilmington from June 28 to July 2.  Boys and girls entering preschool to grade one will play from 8:30 to 9:30 am, while those entering grades two to four will play from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. These sessions are an introduction to the basic skills necessary to advance as a prospective player. Camp director is Chris Brown and will also include various high school players as camp staff.
