Hops for Hope 5K returns

DOVER- Hops for Hope 5K is a fundraiser started by local community members as a way to get in some exercise ahead of the Mount Snow Brewers Festival and to ensure the American Cancer Society continues to provide critical programs and resources so many depend on. Proceeds from this event support the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
The race date is Saturday, August 31. Registration opens at 7 am at the Clocktower Building in the Main Base Area at Mount Snow. All donations eligible for top prizes must be turned in by 8:30 am. The 5K race will begin at 9 am with an awards ceremony to follow
In Vermont, an estimated 3,840 new cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2019, and 1,450 people are expected to die from the disease. Hops for Hope gives people a really healthy and fun way to contribute and help the American Cancer Society provide critical services for Vermonters with cancer, said Peter “Fish” Case, founder of Hops for Hope 5K.
Runners and the general public are invited to a race pre-party on Friday, August 30, at the Dover Forge / One More Time Billiards Parlor and Tavern (OMT) in West Dover. Guests can enjoy $4 Switchback drafts, a raffle giveaway, and save time on race day by picking up their shirts and bibs.
