STRATTON- Online registration for the 2019 Susan G. Komen New England Snowshoe-Vermont 3K run, and 3K or 5K walk, continues to be open with discounted early-bird registration fees through Sunday, December 9, ($30 for adults and $10 for youth).
Snowshoe-Vermont will be held on January 6 at the Sun Bowl Nordic Trails at Stratton Mountain, with on-site preregistration pickup, and new registrations beginning at 7:30 am. Participants may register to snowshoe run or walk as an individual, or as part of a team. The 3K run will kick off the morning’s activities at 9.
Snowshoe-Vermont is a family-friendly event with fun for everyone, and snowshoe demos will be available in limited quantities from Snowshoe-Vermont’s official snowshoe partner, Dion Snowshoes, of Bennington.
Registration fees get participants on the snowshoe course, but it is Snowshoe-Vermont’s fundraising that allows Komen New England to support many local families through funding for critical breast care services and groundbreaking research.
Von Bargen’s Jewelry is donating a snowshoe charm necklace that will be awarded to Snowshoe-Vermont’s top overall fundraiser.
A pickup party (bibs, T-shirts) will be held on Saturday, January 5, from 4 to 7 pm, at Stratton’s Black Bear Lodge.
Participants can meet fellow snowshoers over appetizers and a beverage, while previewing the raffle items. Register, volunteer, donate or become a corporate sponsor to help Susan G. Komen reach its bold goal of reducing breast cancer deaths by 50% in the United States by 2026.
