DOVER- Mount Snow has announced the return of its Choose sNOw program.
Now in its seventh year, the program allows local students in grades six-11 to earn a season pass to Mount Snow by attending two substance abuse prevention educational events sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Community Partnership in collaboration with Mount Snow, and participating in  Green-Up Day.
The first Choose sNOw event will be on Tuesday, March 12, at the Grand Summit Resort Ballroom. Registration will be from 5:30 to 6 pm. The program will be from 6 to 7:15 pm. This event must be attended by both student and a parent or legal guardian. The kickoff event will feature Shaun Derik. For over 10 years, speaker and performing artist Derik has dedicated his life to helping people, young and old, reconnect with their passion and go after their dreams. Through his dynamic message delivery, which is a blend of music and comedy, audience members leave his presentations feeling motivated, energized, and encouraged to take massive steps toward the achievement of their lifelong goals.
The second required event will be on Wednesday, April 24, from 6 to 7:15 pm at the Grand Summit Resort Ballroom. This event must also be attended by both student and a parent or legal guardian. The speaker for the evening is John Underwood, the founder of the Life of an Athlete- Pure Performance-Human Performance Project. Underwood is a former NCAA All-American, international-level distance runner, World Masters Champion, and was coached by legendary Bill Bowerman. Underwood has been a crusader for drug-free sport at all levels. He is an internationally recognized human performance expert, specializing in lifestyle choices’ impact on mental and physical performance. He has worked for three decades with the Olympic Committees and is a human performance consultant for Navy SEALS.
Once registered students have completed both educational events and participation in Green Up Day, they will receive a 2019-2020 season pass valued at $700. All passes will be mailed in fall 2019.
