Public input on Climate Action Plan now sought

The Vermont Climate Council must update the Climate Action Plan by July 1. The plan is updated every four years, as required by the Global Warming Solutions Act. The draft plan contains around 250 climate actions, 40 of which are being proposed as top priorities. Vermonters are invited to offer feedback on the draft plan at input sessions around the state, either at an in-person or virtual session.
Virtual sessions are offered Thursday, April 10, 5:30 to 7 pm and Thursday, May 1, 12 to 1:30 pm. Register at https://cbi-org.zoom.us/meeting/register/GZVlObx7RciS1CtQ764Wcg#/registr... for either session.
There will be an in-person session on Thursday, April 17, 6 to 8 pm, at the Bennington Fire Department, 130 River Street. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/climate-action-plan-input-session-tickets-1....
Background materials will be emailed a few days in advance of each meeting. Refreshments and kids activity sheets will be provided at in-person events.
Public comments on the Climate Action Plan update can also be made by calling or texting (802) 404-2729, emailing anr.cao@vermont.gov, or submitting your comment to the Climate Action Plan public comment form.
Closed captioning will be provided for virtual events. For accommodations to facilitate participation, including language interpretation, contact the Climate Action Office (CAO) at anr.cao@vermont.gov or (802) 404-2729. Language interpretation requests should be made at least five business days in advance of the meeting.
