Pop-up events offer creative fun
DOVER- CB Creates has launched a new space for creative events in West Dover. Locals and visitors involved in the arts stimulated an interest in a location for community venues, and the neighboring space to the Coffee Barn Café became a natural.
Coffee Barn Café welcomes creativity. Owner Dan Baliotti is also an award-winning photographer, with an international career behind him in journalism and advertising. He loves the Vermont landscape, and sees an opportunity for digital and traditional photography workshops, the first one scheduled for May 31. Interested parties can sign up for this free introductory workshop on site. Baliotti would like to share his knowledge of the field past and present and looks forward to this introductory event.
Ruth Beck Baliotti joined her husband’s vision to support the arts, and brings her specialized interest of textiles, quilting, and painting to the forefront.
Along with current painting events for adults and children, CB Creates plans to expand to a full range of maker events to reach varied interests. Look for knitting, quilting, digital photography, and more.
They would like to take this opportunity to showcase the community talents, said Beck Baliotti. She added that when they first first came to the area there was an event called Art on the Mountain, and it was successful in pulling together local talent. When it ended there has been a void and need for artistic interaction.
Visitors can take part in pop-up events, and weekend open studio children’s activities, where they can create “make it/take it” projects, with a made-in-Vermont label.
