Mandalas on exhibit by local artist

Mandala by Barbara Finch.

WARDSBORO- Mandalas by Barbara Finch are on exhibit at the Wardsboro Public Library during August and September.
Finch began her study of the mandala in Vermont some 25 years ago as a student at Goddard College in Plainfield. With a focus on expressive arts therapy, she began researching the many cultures and countries where the unifying image of the mandala has been created throughout the ages.
In addition to her historical studies, Finch began drawing and painting mandalas. In her first college semester she created more than 80 mandala images. As a student she was invited to show her work in a number of galleries and her senior thesis, which included a performance art piece, featured many of her works during that period. Her studies led her to explore her creativity in numerous ways, branching out into other art mediums. In the intervening years, Finch has continued to seek out new ways to challenge her creativity, most recently as a printmaker.
Finch’s unique art can be seen at 170 Main Street during library hours through September. For more information call (802) 896-6988 or visit www.wardsboropubliclibrary.org.
