Lives of tables

Brattleboro- “Gordon Meinhard: The Lives of Tables” is on view at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center through March 7.
While the works in the exhibit could be described as contemporary still life paintings of tables, BMAC chief curator Mara Williams said that as the series progresses, the tables become more animated, ultimately seeming almost sentient.
Regular admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $4 for students. Members and children 18 and under are admitted free of charge. The museum is located at the intersection of Main Street and routes 119 and 142. For more information call (802) 257-0124 or visit www.brattleboromuseum.org.
