Adaptive sports team finishes strong

DOVER- The Adaptive Sports at Mount Snow’s Special Olympics team traveled to Pico Resort March 18 to 20 to compete in the Special Olympics Vermont’s Winter Games.
Bluebird team member Emma Davis was chosen to lead the athlete pledge and to light the caldron at the opening ceremonies.
After two days of competition, the 12 member team brought home 12 gold medals, seven silver medals, two bronze medals, one fourth-place ribbon, five fifth-place ribbons, and two sixth-place ribbons.
The Bluebird roster includes: Jack Arnold (gold in slalom, giant slalom, and super-G), Emma Davis (silver in slalom and giant slalom, and a bronze in super-G),  Kelsey Griffin (sixth place in slalom, fifth in giant slalom, and super-G),  Dustin Hollister (gold in slalom snowboard, giant slalom snowboard, and super-G snowboard), Brendon Mulcahly (gold in slalom and giant slalom, fifth in super-G),  Kayli Nicholson (silver in slalom, and in super-G),  Bobby “Boo” Petrie (gold in slalom, silver in giant slalom, and super-G), Chris Strauss (fifth in slalom, bronze in giant slalom, gold in super-G), Nathan Strauss (sixth in slalom, silver in giant slalom and super-G), Meg Strauss (fourth in slalom), Lauren Strol (fifth in slalom), Ryan Weisberg (gold in giant slalom, and super-G).
