Charles J. Romano
Dover- Charles J. Romano, 68, of West Dover and Middletown, RI, died Monday, March 8, at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the longtime companion and best friend of Gale Palladino, of Middletown and Vermont.
Born in Montclair, NJ, on August 1, 1941, he was the son of the late John and Mary (DeVita) Romano.
Mr. Romano was a graduate of Nathaniel Hawthorne College in New Hampshire. He was the owner and operator of Romano Jewelers in Middletown, NJ. He recently worked at Mount Snow Resort for 20 years, lastly as the human resource manager. He loved fishing, was an avid chef, and loved red wine. His marinara sauce will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his former wife, Edwina Romano, of Middletown, NJ; his children, John E. Romano and his wife Mary Beth, of Belford, NJ, Steven Romano and his wife Tami, of Middletown, NJ, Jodi Romano, of Middletown, NJ, Ralph Palladino, of Long Beach, NY, Joseph Palladino, of Middletown, RI, and Alison and Brian Ernest, of Middletown, RI. He also leaves his grandchildren Spencer Romano, Justin Romano, Mark Romano, Evan Romano, Raphael Palladino, and granddaughter Olivia Ernest.
He was predeceased by his sister Joan Morris.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 20, at 10 am in St. Lucy’s Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI. Burial will be private.

Richard L. Wright
Boston- Richard L. Wright, 90, died peacefully on March 2 as a result of injuries sustained in a fall. Mr. Wright was predeceased by Mary, his beloved wife of 65 years, in December 2009.
Each of his children and almost everyone he knew, knew a man of great thoughtfulness and many kindnesses: Kindness manifested as an inquiry after a child’s game, a meal cooked just to one’s liking, or food scraps saved and frozen for a visit from one’s dog.
Mr. Wright was always productive and always did his part to contribute to the hum of the world. A skilled machinist, an active civic volunteer, and until December, the primary caregiver for his wife in her last years.
He was a much-loved and admired dad and will be greatly missed by his seven children: Richard Wright Jr., of Gainsville, GA; Joanne Wright, of Jamaica Plain, MA; Thomas Wright, of Needham, MA; John Wright, of Canton, MA; Mary Therese Wright, of Jacksonville, VT; Robert Wright, of Foxboro, MA; and Sharon Wright Foley, of West Roxbury, MA. He was also the adored “Papa” to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Wright was born and raised in Lansing, MI, the sixth of 11 children and relocated permanently to Massachusetts after he met Mary O’Neil while stationed in Boston in 1942. They married in January, 1944, before he was assigned to Australia and the Phillipines during World War II.
