WILMINGTON- Mary Isabelle Garcia Cooper died peacefully on January 20, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Patrick and Katherine Anne Spahn Garcia.

She leaves six siblings; three children, Christopher Patrick Cooper, Stephen Michael Cooper, and Brittany Louise Goss; and three grandchildren, Izaiah Christopher Cooper, Cody Wayne Carter, and Mason Patrick Cooper.

Ms. Cooper graduated from Smith College, magna cum laude. She earned a master’s degree in counseling. She was a licensed foster care provider and fostered many children. She was a realtor for Chimney Hill Real Estate in Wilmington. Aside from her profound love for her children and grandchildren, she loved knitting, photography, the beach, irises, frogs, and Vermont.

A celebration of Ms. Cooper’s life will be held Saturday, January 27, at Vasco Da Gamma, 15 Fenner Avenue. Newport, RI, at 2 pm.
