MARLBORO- On Sunday, April 23, at 3 pm, Marlboro College presents a concert of music by Stan Charkey, at the Ragle Hall, Serkin Center.

Music professor Charkey, the Luis C. Batlle Chair in Music and the driving force behind the Music for a Sunday Afternoon series, will be retiring this academic year after 40 years of inspired teaching. But in addition to teaching, Charkey is a composer and performer of note, and has had premieres of new works performed in Paris, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, and of course Marlboro.

On the eve of his retirement, this retrospective program of his compositions will be performed by friends, family, and colleagues Andrew Eng, on violin and viola; Anya Shemetyeva Merfeld, on viola; Jake Charkey on cello; Paul Cohen on cello; Greg Jukes on percussion; and Marlboro professor Matan Rubinstein on piano.
