HALIFAX- Irene P. (Wheeler) Cyr, 82 a former resident of West Halifax, died Monday, January 13, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Mrs. Cyr was born in Readsboro on July 15, 1931, she was the daughter of Harry and Nellie (Ross) Williams. She grew up in Readsboro where she attended local schools. Mrs. Cyr was first married to Ralph Wheeler who died in 1994; she later married Alfphie Cyr who died in 2004. She loved country music, watching wild birds, crocheting, and puzzles.

She leaves her sisters, Marion Wheeler, of Halifax, Eleanor Herzig, of Colrain, MA, and Beverly Dzemia, of Big Sandy, TN; a niece, Angela, whom she considered her adopted daughter; nephew Billy Wheeler and wife Anna, whom she lived with before moving to Bennington; as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Harry and Roger Williams and sister Lillian Rosenburg.

Services will be held in the spring.
