The Primate Fiasco
The Primate Fiasco
BRATTLEBORO- The Garland School will be holding its third annual silent auction Saturday, March 2, at the Stone Church, but this year there is a twist. Primate Fiasco will be there to funk things up with songs from their Grammy-nominated children’s album “The Wheels on the Bus!” They have played in Brattleboro numerous times in different venues to varied audiences, but this is their first show in the Brattleboro area geared to an audience of both big and small kids. You have never heard “Wheels on the Bus” or “On Top of Spaghetti” performed like this before!

The Primate Fiasco uses the instrumentation of a New Orleans street band (Sousaphone, banjo, brass, woodwinds, drums, etc.) but plays music that you wouldn’t expect. From their Grammy-nominated kids album to their dedicated following of hippies and hipsters to their gray-haired jazz lovers, the Fiasco scene is open to all fun-loving souls. Whether you see them on stage or parading through a festival campground, you’ll be smiling and moving your feet.

Just a few of the many items that will be up for auction are a one-week stay at an Adirondack lake house, original artwork by local artists, and a cord of firewood. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to The Garland School, a nonprofit organization.

The Garland School is an independent nursery and Kindergarten program that follows the principles of Waldorf education. The Garland School serves children 2 to 6 years old, offering both full- and half-day options, as well as before and after care. A wholesome organic lunch and snacks are served daily. Eight weeks of summer camp are also offered at the Garland School. It is believed that the experience of rich, imaginative play in early childhood guides children toward becoming free, creative thinkers and decision makers through the remainder of their lives.

The Garland School Silent Auction and Concert with Primate Fiasco will be held Saturday, March 2, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Stone Church, 210 Main Street. Tickets are $5 for children, $10 for adults, and $20 for the whole family. The Garland community will provide an array of food and drink at the event.
