DOVER- Freeskiers and snowboarders gathered at Mount Snow’s Carinthia on January 12 to 13 for a pair of slopestyle competitions. Mount Snow Academy athletes were among those who enjoyed competitive success despite the all-too-sloppy conditions.

Snowboarders Ali Hsueh (Closter, NJ) and Sari Richards (New Paltz, NY) took turns with the top spot among Breaker Girls (ages 12-13). Richards took the gold on Saturday, with Hsueh placing fourth. On Sunday, Hsueh won the division with Richards coming in third. Christine DeJoseph (Palmyra, NJ) took home both firsts in Women’s Jam (ages 18-22).

In the Junior Men’s category (ages 16-17), Max Lyons (Marlboro) claimed the number one spot on Saturday, with teammates David McCarthy (Pawling, NY) in fourth place and Jon Zaccheo (East Dorset) in seventh. On the following day they switched it up, with McCarthy in third, Lyons fifth, and Zaccheo eighth.

Among the freeskiers, Ali Perotti (Canaan, CT) won the Women’s division (ages 16-18). Calvin Lyons (Marlboro) took a sixth and a fourth in the Men’s (age 13-15) category, while Thomas Neal (Wallingford, CT) collected an eighth spot on Sunday. In the 16-18-year-old competition, Chris Frulla (West Simsbury, CT) came in sixth on Saturday.
