“I was thrilled when I received word of the grant. We love to create interdisciplinary opportunities for the students, and this grant will help make a special one possible. It should be a magical holiday celebration for students, parents, and the community,” said Crystal Griswold.
Macy’s is making “Yes, Virginia” available to teachers royalty-free. The Dover School is one of 100 schools nationwide that received a $1,000 theater grant to help put on the show.
“I really hope the community can come out and experience the true joy of a student performed play. You’ll laugh, you might cry, but you will surely be entertained,” said Principal Bill Anton.
The Dover School is well known for its theatrical productions. Each spring, the primary grades collaborate on a continent study culminating in a global artistic production. Each fall, the sixth grade designs and delivers a show-stopping musical.
The production will be presented on Thursday, December 20, at 5:30 pm at the Dover School. The community is welcome to attend. Admittance is free, however, donations are greatly appreciated.
