PORT ST. LUCIE, FL- Dominick J. DeSantis died August 17. He was born August 29, 1922, to Antonio and Rosa DeSantis, of NYC. Mr. DeSantis enlisted in the US Army during WWII. He became a navigator for the Army Air Force Transport Command, serving from 1943 to 1946.

In 1945 he married the love of his life, Sally Irene Ewald. After working as an all-around mechanic, he returned to college, earning a BS degree in 1974, and proceeded to teach automotive for BOCES in Suffolk County, NY, for 19 years. Upon retirement he moved with his wife to Wilmington, where together they built a lovely chalet home in the Green Mountains. They later moved to Port St. Lucie. Mr. DeSantis was an avid skier and golfer, loved to play tennis, and go dancing. He was truly a man of many accomplishments, talents, and interests.

He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Sally; a son, Tony; three daughters, Donna Cosma, Jacqueline Bellucci, and Joni Lenahan; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Nicholas DeSantis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Mary Sweeney, and a brother, Salvatore DeSantis. Mr. DeSantis will be truly missed by all who knew him.
