HALIFAX- The broadband/website committee voted Wednesday to curtail its meeting schedule. They will now meet on the second Wednesday of every other month; the next meeting will be on the second Wednesday of October at 6:30 pm.

The members took two other votes. The first was to rotate the chairmanship among all the members. Jessica Bruno will chair the October meeting.

The second vote was to officially drop from the committee anyone who has not attended at least two meetings since last spring’s reorganization, when the broadband and website committees were merged. Since that time, Phyllis Evanuk is the only member of the website committee who has participated.

As the FiberConnect line draws closer to Halifax, Curtis Carroll reiterated his desire to help and encouraged those individuals who will be in close proximity to the line to establish connections with it. Carroll thinks that greater use of the fiber-optic line will help ensure its continued availability. Carroll has also suggested exploring the possibility of adding a community library function to the school library, further expanding access to the high-speed service.

Bruno reported that she has posted town policies on the website (halifaxvermont.com). Bruno has begun working on simplifying and organizing the site; she has already reorganized the tabs that allow internal navigation of the site.
