MARLBORO- Mildred Alice Martin, 95, of Marlboro died August 2 at her home. She was born on July 10, 1915, in Carlstadt, NJ, the daughter of Arthur and Alice Martin. Ms. Martin retired from Western Electric in Kearny, NJ, before she moved to Marlboro. She was a member of the Pioneers Stanley Homes chapter, the Jacksonville Homemakers, and the Breakfast Club.

Survivors include sisters Emily Alice Martin, of Marlboro and Ruth Felip, of Gloucester, NJ; brothers Arthur Martin, of Navarre, FL, John Martin, of Little Rock, AR, David Martin, of Morristown NJ, and Charlie Martin, of Tuckerton, NJ. She was preceded in death by Richard and Edward Martin.

Ms. Martin will be remembered for her love of family. She has many nieces and nephews who love her and will never forget her cheerfulness, her laughter, and her love.

One of her favorite things to do was plant a garden every year. Flowers, fruits, and vegetables to share the abundance of all she gathered with friends and family. Flowers were a delight, she couldn’t get enough and was thrilled over each one. Her favorite quote was “Never, never, never give up.”

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 7, at 10:30 am at the Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington. Contributions in Ms. Martin’s name can be made to the Windham Humane Society in Brattleboro or Deerfield Valley Rescue, PO Box 854, Wilmington, VT 05363.
