Jazzberry Jam is an enthusiastic, though perhaps somewhat unlikely, Brattleboro-based quartet. Over the past 10 years the group has morphed through various styles, eventually settling on an upbeat, danceable, jazz-based music with multi-generation appeal. Walter Slowinski (alto sax and clarinet) currently practices medicine in Putney, and does the jazz on the side. Bill Conley (guitar) grew up a rock ‘n rollaholic. He’s in recovery now, but pulls the band in that funk direction. Jeremy Holch (drums) has fond memories of Putney, living in a cabin, picking apples, and playing with local group Stormwatch for years. Jay Cook (electric and acoustic bass) performs and teaches music locally.
The series is sponsored by the town of Putney, Soundesign Recording Studio, Putney Food Co-Op, Putney Paper Company, The Stockwell Brothers, and many other Putney businesses and organizations. The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available. For information visit www.twilightmusic.org or call (802) 387-5772.
