WILMINGTON- Collect a “Passport to Blue Adventures” and enjoy 10 days of all things blue in the Deerfield Valley of southern Vermont. The Deerfield Valley towns of Jacksonville, Wilmington, Whitingham, Dover and Townshend will celebrate blueberries with vintage cars, blueberry inspired cuisine, blue beer, blue displays, a blueberry parade, fresh picked blueberries, and of course the blues … music that is.

The festivities kick off on July 30 at Lake Whitingham with 100 gallons of slipping and sliding blueberry Jell-O fun for the children; be sure to pack a picnic dinner, then spend time with old and new friends. On July 31 cheer on the Blueberry Parade complete with themed floats, music, dancing blueberries, and a blue parade marshal. Throughout the week local shops will offer blue sales and restaurants will tempt taste buds with blueberry treats. Take in a play, listen to a bedtime story read in a blueberry field, (don’t forget to wear pj’s), jump on a wagon ride, sip a glass of blueberry wine or look at blue-inspired art.

On August 7, come for a Rockin’ Stompin’ Blueberry Block Party and Village Stroll in Wilmington center. The Deerfield Valley is located in the shadow of Mount Snow, the closest big Vermont mountain to Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia. This celebration has been selected as a Top 10 Summer Event in Vermont for the past two years. Come celebrate the blueberry in the blueberry Capital of Vermont, July 30 to August 8.
