According to police reports, Gloria Levine, 88, of West Dover, was fatally injured when her 2010 Subaru veered to the left on a curve in the road, and collided head on with a Chrysler minivan driven by Katherine Griebel, 73, of Nashua, NH.
Levine was determined to be in critical condition at the scene and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. Soon after she arrived in Albany, Levine was pronounced dead. Griebel was trapped in the minivan and it took rescue crews more than 45 minutes to free her. She was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. Louis Griebel, 76, also of Nashua, a passenger in the minivan, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
State police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Shaftsbury barracks at (802) 442-5421.
