WILMINGTON- On Saturday, July 3, at 7 pm, Memorial Hall Center for the Arts (MHCA), Wilmington, will present Ron Rich in an extraordinary concert of his “Rocky Mountain Memories / A Tribute to John Denver.”
Rich, in appearance and vocal sound, bears an uncanny resemblance to the legendary John Denver. His talent in re-creating the sound of John Denver is evident throughout this show. Rocky Mountain Memories is a celebration of the life of one of America’s most favorite singer/songwriter artists, Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. Having toured the United States with his Rocky Mountain Memories show, Rich has recently has recently returned from touring in New Zealand with the “Whisper the Wind” tribute to John Denver. “Rocky Mountain High,” “Annie’s Song,” “Poems, Prayers, and Promises,” “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” and “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” are just some of the treasures of the evening.
On Tuesday, July 6, at 7:30 pm, Memorial Hall Center for the Arts will present The Artie Shaw Orchestra, featuring sixteen instruments and a female vocalist.

“Begin the Beguine,” “Moonglow,” “Stardust,” “S’Wonderful,” “Night and Day,” “Deep Purple,” “The Continental,” and “I Get a Kick Out of You” are just a part of this evening’s presentation that will also include covers of other big band “standards” that helped the “greatest generation” through the war years.
