Memorial Day is fast approaching and with it, the traditional program in Wilmington at Memorial Hall followed by the annual parade. The veterans of the American Legion Nelson E. Pickwell Post #15 invite all veterans to march with us in this year’s parade. We would really appreciate your participation and support at the parade and the program.
Last year it was great to see the WWII veterans riding in cars in the parade. Again this year we are looking for volunteers to provide open vehicles or convertibles, and volunteer drivers to carry our most honored veterans of any era. Please let us know if you are a veteran who would like to march or ride in the parade.
Kids on bikes, Scouts, and any other groups are also invited to be part of the parade. All participants need to be lined up by 11 am in the parking lot of the 1836 Country Store. The parade begins shortly after 11 am.
Don’t miss joining us for the traditional Memorial Day Program at Memorial Hall at 10 am on Monday, May 31, when we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
