To the Editor:

Are you fed up with what’s happening in Washington? I recently had the pleasure of listening to Len Britton at a town hall meeting in Hartland. Len is challenging Senator Leahy for Vermont’s Senate seat. Before attending the meeting, I was concerned that Len has never held an elected position. As I listened to him, those concerns totally dissolved. Our founding fathers intended our government to be of the people, by the people and for the people because the founders of this great nation understood that a government by career politicians would lead to corruption. Len Britton is a breath of fresh air in an increasingly polluted political environment.

Len Britton is an intelligent, articulate, ninth-generation Vermonter and is a clear voice for Vermonters who are alarmed with the growing, unsustainable entitlement programs coupled with dependency on the government and the erosion of our freedoms. His common sense approach will appeal to anyone with an ounce of concern over the national debt we will be leaving to future generations if our government continues on its current path.

Prior to a few days ago I had never attended a political event other than my own Town Meeting. In the past I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans. This fall I will be voting for a change for Vermont. I hope many others will join me.
