SHELBURNE, MA- Louise (Snow) Mitchell, 91, of Montgomery, formerly of Shelburne, died Sunday, March 7, in a local nursing home.

She was born in West Dover, VT, on Aug. 13, 1918, daughter of the late Weston J. and Blanche (Holland) Snow, and lived most of her life on a dairy farm in Shelburne.

She was a waitress at the Red Rose Restaurant in Charlemont and a homemaker. She was the widow of Verne A. Mitchell, who died April 16, 1993.

Mrs. Mitchell leaves two children, Robert V. Mitchell, of Fruitland Park, FL, and Nancy M. Peckham, of Montgomery. She was a great influence to her six grandchildren: Linda Healey, David Peckham, Deborah Young, Robert, Gary, and Adam Mitchell, and her five great- grandchildren.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing and cooking, talents which she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching wildlife, visits to the seacoast, and a spirited game of cards.

Mrs. Mitchell was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Bailey and Freeda Allen, and three brothers, Louis, Holland, and Ralph Snow.

Funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hill Town Community Ambulance Fund, 1 Bromley Road, Huntington, MA 01050, or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
