A devoted mother and partner, Ms. Lloyd’s biggest joy was her family and grandchildren. Her strength of will was obvious to all who knew her and was seen in every endeavor, continuing to the very end. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She was an extremely hard worker through many professions; her most recent and proudest was as an LNA in a Rutland nursing home. She had lived with her family in Wardsboro from 1985 to 1997 and then in Wilmington until 2001.
Ms. Lloyd is survived by her partner of 29 years, Fred Leeds, of Rutland; her mother, Ingrid Martinsen and brother, Gary Martinsen, of Greensburg, PA; her daughters, Christine Lloyd-Newberry, of Colchester, and Tara Darrell, of Wallingford; her sons-in-law, Brian Lloyd-Newberry and William “Chuck” Darrell; her grandchildren, Ayden Lloyd-Newberry, Taryn and Jesse Darrell; and a large extended family in Norway. She was preceded in death by her father, Ove Martinsen.
At her request no services will be held. Her family will spread her ashes over the ocean. In honor of her love of all things literary, contributions can be made to Children’s Literacy Foundation, 1536 Loomis Hill Road, Waterbury Center, VT 05677 or at www.clifonline.org.
