HALIFAX- Clifford W. Simpson, 88, a resident of Collins Road, died peacefully Sunday, January 31, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, on May 14, 1921, the son of Gustave and Anna P. (Walz) Klein. Mr. Simpson received his education in Bridgeport, CT, and West Hartford, CT, schools and graduated from William Hall High School. He ran the family construction business, John L. Simpson General Construction, for many years in Connecticut before moving to Vermont and retiring in 1974.

Mr. Simpson was a former member of the Masons and Shrine Club and enjoyed fishing and skiing when he was younger. He was a New England Patriots football fan and enjoyed watching college football. He was also a veteran of the United States Army Air Force during WWII.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his brother Earl W. Klein, of West Halifax, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alma P. Davis. At the request of the family there will be no formal funeral service.
