The Deerfield Valley Meal Site would like to take this holiday time to thank several of our community friends. We recently held our annual Thanksgiving dinner and with the generosity of our friends from Honora in Halifax, we received turkeys to feed 100 seniors for our holiday dinner and our Meals On Wheels friends here in the valley. it was a wonderful day with the help of the leadership group and Thanksgiving cards for all the seniors to take home, made by the Whitingham Elementary School children.
We have also recently made a move to Vallberts Restaurant in Jacksonville. This has been a busy time for us but we were able to hold our holiday party last week. The seniors were treated to holiday entertainment by the wonderful leadership group of Twin Valley Middle School, under the direction of Suzanne Mears.
After the party all seniors were given handmade ornaments provided by the FRESH afterschool program at Twin Valley High School. it was a special treat for them all. We also would like to send a big thank you to our friends at the MOOver. Without your help, we would not be able to reach some of our friends here in the valley. You provide an amazing service to this area.
We thank you all for your continuous support to the seniors in the valley and our program. Wishing all our senior friends a happy and healthy holiday.
