Wilmington – Join in on Saturday, December 19, as Bartleby’s Books presents a day of music and suspense. Local musician George Haggerty will be in the store at 2 pm playing original and traditional folk music on his mountain dulcimer. At 7 pm, Newfane mystery novelist Castle Freeman will be on hand to read and discuss his newest novel, “All That I Have.”

Freeman’s novel is full of dark comedy and suspense and showcases his knack for deftly capturing the people and places of Vermont. The novel tells the story of Sheriff Lucian Wing as he confronts a series of trials that test his work, his marriage, and the settled order of his life. Wing is an experienced, practical man who enforces the law in his corner of Vermont with a steady hand and a generous tolerance. But things are not as they should be in the sheriff’s small, protected domain. As the outside world draws near and threats multiply, Sheriff Wing must call on all the personal resources he has cultivated during his working life: patience, tact, and especially humor.

Freeman is the award-winning author of three previous novels including “Go With Me,” which was featured on NPR. The Kirkus Review said of “Go With Me,” “If all novels were this good, Americans would read more.” Freeman is also a regular contributor to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Haggerty has over 20 years experience as a professional entertainer, mountain dulcimer builder, and teacher. His performances are filled with humor, and his love for the mountain dulcimer is contagious. Audiences will quickly be caught up in the mood of the music he plays. Haggerty and his wife live in Jacksonville and are the owners of Folk Craft Music.

Bartleby’s Books is located at 17 West Main Street in downtown Wilmington. For more information or to reserve a book call (802) 464-5425 or visit www.bartlebysvt.com.
