NORWICH, CT- Jeanne Lorraine (Lukoski) Clifford, 80, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving children on Tuesday, October 6. She was born to Frank Lukoski and Helen Stefanowski on the Fourth of July, 1929, in Norwich. Her birthday was always a great source of pride for her and since childhood considered the festivities her own personal birthday party.

Mrs. Clifford attended St. Joseph School in Norwich. She proudly attended Hillhouse High School in New Haven, graduating in 1947. Mrs.Cliffod was a member of the Epsilon Nu Sigma Sorority whose sisters continued to meeting regularly until recently.

Mrs. Clifford attended the St. Raphael Hospital School of Nursing. She was affiliated with the Submarine Officers Wives Club and Retired Officers Wives’ Club, the Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parish Council, Ladies Guild, Ledyard Grange, Polish Heritage Association of Norwich, Gales Ferry Fire District Board Member, and the Ledyard Women’s Club.

Mrs. Clifford married (LCDR, Ret.) Donald J. Clifford on March 31, 1951. He died on July 27, 1982.

Mrs. Clifford is survived by her children, Patricia C. Murphy, of Wilmington, VT; Donald J. Clifford Jr. and his wife Patricia; Peter Clifford; and Diane M. Donatello and her husband John. Also, her grandchildren, Jeff and Jason Clifford, Katharine Murphy, and Benjamin and Sean Donatello; her brothers Thomas Lukoski and his wife Sally, and Walter Lukoski; her aunt, Anna Gullak; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs.Clifford lovingly embraced her extended family and friends by acknowledging all special occasions with cards. She was predeceased by a son, Brian P. Clifford; a sister, Theresa Wanat; and a brother, Frank J. Lukoski.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be directed to the Assocation of Marian Helpers, Eden Hill, Stockbrige, MA 01263, or The Academy of St. Theresa, 18 Hurlbutt Road, Gales Ferry, CT 06335. Labenski Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
