To the Editor:

I’m selling raffle tickets to benefit the construction of the Vermont Fallen Heroes GWOT Memorial. This memorial will honor Vermont’s brave men and women who have served, are serving, will serve, and those that have fallen during the Global War on Terror (GWOT).

This special memorial’s estimated $350,000 cost will be met solely through private giving.

The memorial will be established at the Vermont Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. Tickets cost $5 each, and are available in a book of five for $20.

The drawing is to be held on November 11, 2009. I need to sell these tickets within the next two weeks!

I have some T-shirts available as well (sizes: L, XL, XXL). The shirts list the names of Vermont’s fallen soldiers on the back and will show your support of the memorial on the front.

You may purchase a T-shirt and a raffle ticket for $20.

The following establishments have graciously offered to help sell the tickets: The Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce on West Main Street in Wilmington and Dot’s Restaurant of Wilmington.

For more information, to help sell tickets, or to purchase a t-shirt, call (802) 464-0708 (leave a message).

Prizes: first-DR Power Field & Brush Mower (15hp); second- $500 gift certificate to Allen Pools & Spas; third-Toro electric blower/vac and a $25 gift certicate to Boulevard Gardens.

Checks for tickets or general donations should be made to Vermont Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund. This is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible

Thank you for supporting this noble cause.
