WILMINGTON- On Saturday, September 5, at 8 pm, Memorial Hall Center for the Arts presentS Carl Thomas and a four-piece band in “A Night at the Copa,” a tribute to the music of Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra.

This show, presented both in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, celebrates the music of the two prominent artists who helped to establish the Copa room at the Sands and the Copacabana in New York City as the most exciting venues of their time.

Carl Thomas graduated from the Juilliard School in Manhattan in 1977. Although singing since he was a youngster, Carl’s success in music did not happen until later in life. He has been the opening act for Pat Cooper, Jackie Mason, and Joan Rivers. He has also appeared with Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Belmonts, The Del Vikings, Shirley Austin Reeves, and Earl Lewis and the Channels.

The show, “A Night at the Copa,” is an expanded version of a smash act, “Strictly Darin,” that helped propel Carl Thomas into the limelight. His tribute to the ‘50s/‘60s superstar has received critical acclaim wherever it was performed. By adding some Sinatra to the bill to extend the show to two acts, Carl has created a show that is a crowd pleaser and an exciting performance experience. It is perfect for audiences of all ages.

Some of the songs of the evening will be “Mack the Knife,” “Irresistible You,” “You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby,” and many more classics.
