On Tuesday, the Sitzmark summer volleyball league wrapped up another year of competition with championship games for both the A and B leagues. This year featured 11 B league teams and seven A league teams dedicated to the spirited, twice-a-week competitions held each Tuesday and Thursday night on the sand courts of the Sitzmark Bar and Grill in Wilmington. The winning teams in both leagues swept their respective opponents to capture a championship and included international newcomers as well as some familiar faces. In the A league, “Sand Slayers” delivered “You’ve Been Served” a two-game defeat to repeat as league champions, while the “Rags Warriors,” a team of Polish nationals working at Mount Snow for the summer, took the top spot in the B league, defeating team “Hasselhoff.” Each year the Sitzmark league runs from May to August and is always open to new teams.
