Four SMS skiers qualify for national championships

PARK CITY, UT- Four SMS U16 alpine racers qualified for U16 Nationals in Park City, UT, March 28 to April 3. Sophomore Spencer Smith, of Woodstock; sophomore Austin Lilley, of Tinton Falls, NJ; freshman Hana Kusumi, of Stratton Mountain; and freshman Mikayla Lathrop, of Londonderry all competed. Smith was the top finisher at U16 Eastern Championships in Whiteface earlier in the month, earning first three times and making top-five in every race. At U16 Nationals, on March 30, competing in SL, Lilley finished seventh overall, and Lathrop was 13th overall (fourth for her age). On March 31 in GS, Lathrop was 10th overall. For the dual-panel SL, Lathrop was first for her age.
