I am writing to let supporters of the COS Fund charity know about the recent success of a COS Fund scholar and to invite members of the local community to attend the second annual “COS for a Cause” fundraising event this upcoming weekend.
Earlier this month, Patience Marks, a COS Fund scholar, was awarded the prestigious Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship. The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a Boston College student who demonstrates strong academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and community service, as well as an intention to work toward intercultural communication and social equity. Ms. Marks is a prior recipient of a COS Fund scholarship and the COS Fund is very proud to announce her latest accomplishment.
To support exceptional students like Ms. Marks, the COS Fund is holding its second annual “COS for a Cause” fundraising event on March 2. The event will be held at the Hermitage Club in Wilmington and full participants in the event will receive:
Full ski and/or snowboarding privileges at the club throughout the event
Access to ice skating, tubing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing trails
Complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks
Complimentary Vermont barbecue
COS Fund 2014 limited edition T-shirt
COS Fund 2014 limited edition tote bag filled with chocolates, cookies, granola bars, juice boxes, water, etc.
Even if individuals are unable to participate in the full day of activities, the Cos Fund would like to invite the general public and residents of the Deerfield Valley to arrive at 3 pm to participate in a live and silent auction. Auction items include: a Hermitage Club season pass; Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins tickets; a Nor’Easter Ski Pass; and a $1,000 gift certificate to First Trax, just to name a few of the fabulous items.
For more information about the “Cos for a Cause” fundraising event or to make a donation please visit the COS Fund website at: www.cosfund.org/events. Please join us on March 2 to support remarkable students like Patience Marks.
Special thanks to The Deerfield Valley News and all those that have donated to the COS Fund.
