THE VILLAGES, FL- Martha Ann Crafts Pardee, 78, died on Sunday, February 2. She was born on March 4, 1935, and moved from Waterford, CT, to Orange Blossom Gardens, Lady Lake, FL, in 1989.

Mrs. Pardee graduated from Vermont’s Wilmington High School and Castleton Teachers College, class of 1957. She and her late husband, Sherwood W. Pardee, of Old Saybrook, CT, were married in 1958. She was always a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved teaching first grade for 14 years. Although having a disabling stroke more than 40 years ago, Mrs. Pardee still enjoyed flower gardening, trimming her Bonsai trees, adding to her large Easter egg collection, and preserving antique quilts.

Survivors include her son Alan Sherwood Pardee, his wife Denise and their children Celine, Evan, and Emily, of Alburgh, VT, and Mrs. Pardee’s devoted daughter and caregiver Ruth Lyle Pardee Reighley.

There will be a private committal service of her ashes in Franklin, VT, at the family’s convenience this summer.
