To the Editor,

Given the population of the United States, the chances that you will be competing in the Olympics in Sochi are well over a million to one. However, if you call Dover home, your chances are about one in 500. There must be something in the water or, more likely, the great programs at Mount Snow. Our tiny little town (population: a little over 1,000) is sending two athletes to Sochi.

Kelly Clark will continue her storied Olympic career at Sochi. And, amazing newcomer Devin Logan will compete in her first Olympic Games. As well, Jackie Hernandez, who calls Londonderry her hometown, spent time on the slopes of Mount Snow growing up.

We are all very proud of these young women here in Dover. Your hometown is rooting for you! Good luck in Sochi!

Andy McLean

Town Clerk, Dover
