PUTNEY– Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present a twin bill of award-winning contemporary folk singer/songwriters Antje Duvekot and Seth Glier on Friday, January 10, at 7:30 pm.

Duvekot is a German-born, American-raised singer/songwriter whose songs have been critically praised for their hard-won wisdom, dark-eyed realism, and street-smart romanticism. Her bicultural upbringing and relative newness to English have helped shape her unique way with a song, giving her a startlingly original poetic palette. They are the keys to the powerful, even revolutionary, empathy that informs everything she writes. She has won top songwriting awards including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, the Kerrville Folk Festival Best New Folk Award and the Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act.

Singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist, and Grammy nominee Glier is renowned for his fearless vocal delivery, musical exuberance, and seasoned songwriting beyond his years. Since the release of his album “The Next Right Thing” in 2011, the 24-year-old Massachusetts native has shared the stage with artists as diverse as James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Emmylou Harris, and Ryan Adams. A troubadour in every sense of the word, he plays over 250 shows a year, headlining his own concerts and major folk festivals.

As a national spokesperson for the Autism Awareness Foundation and an advocate of Musicians On Call, and with a Rock The Vote Road Trip 2012 stop under his belt, Glier has become increasingly comfortable expressing his social beliefs, both onstage and off. In 2012 he took home Best Social Action Song for his track “The Next Right Thing” at the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards, his second IMA win.

JD McCliment’s Pub will provide a beer and wine cash bar. Tickets are $16 in advance, $18 at the door, available online at www.nextstagearts.org, and Offerings Jewelry. For more information contact Maria Basescu, executive director, at (802) 387-0102 or by email nextstagearts@gmail.com.
