To the Editor,

Don and the committee for the 2013 Vermont Wounded Warriors golf tournament:

I am aware you received a thank you letter from the Vermont Veterans’ Home. However, on behalf of the Board of Trustees for the Home, I want to extend my gratitude for such an unbelievable gift. With the holiday seasons upon us, you and your team have truly demonstrated what “giving” is.

The members of the board are fully aware of the significant man-hours required to pull off an event such as the Vermont Wounded Warriors golf tournament. Many hours, meetings, and phone calls are expended to ensure all goes off as planned, and I must say you did it.

It was a tremendous day and evening filled with the camaraderie our young veterans are missing when they return home.

As I watched these men and women tell stories, jokes, and laugh, the true mission of the event was evident. Those non-veterans who attended were caught up in the revelry and importance of the event.

I hope your team is aware the donation we received is to be used to support veterans residing at our home who are without the ability to provide for themselves financially. Daily needs as well as comfort items can be provided with these funds. This donation will make their lives a little easier, what a great gift!

Please know all of us associated with the Vermont Veterans’ Home are extremely grateful for this remarkable gift, and also appreciative and aware of the behind the scenes effort involved.

Sincerely,

Joseph L. Krawczyk

Colonel (USA Retired)

President, Board of Trustees

Vermont Veterans’ Home
