JAMAICA- Controlled releases of water will be made by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, from Ball Mountain and Townshend lakes in Jamaica and Townshend on Saturday, September 27, to provide adequate river flows for recreational canoeing, kayaking, and rafting.

The gates will be open from 7 am to 7 pm, to welcome nearly 1,000 participants expected to turn out to enjoy this white-water event.

Water releases of 15,000 cfs are scheduled for both Ball Mountain and Townshend from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, which will provide a full day and an ample amount of white water for all to enjoy.

Ball Mountain Lake is located at 88 Ball Mountain Lane, off Route 30 or Route 100 in Jamaica. For more information call (802) 874-4881 or visit www.nae.usace.army.mil/recreati/bml/bmlhome.htm.
