There's nothing like fresh, local food

To the Editor,

Every Wednesday afternoon a small group of local “farmers” gathers on the Wilmington Flea Market grounds with hopes of establishing a local Farmers Market. They offer everything from syrup, honey, and baked goods to vegetables, fruits, herbs, and eggs to wool knit items and woodburned and carved art. Everything is locally grown or produced.

It’s been an interesting, very challenging year for our gardens and finally they are producing a greater variety of veggies including lettuce, beans, carrots, corn, tomatoes, cukes, chard, and beets.

Perhaps you’d like to check it out. There’s nothing like fresh local food and they’d love to see you!
