Local skaters earn gold and silver ribbons

GREENFIELD, MA- Team Greenfield of FMC Ice Sports sent the following nine skaters to compete recently:

Elise Lacroix- Chesterfield, NH; Amelia Opsahl- Chesterfield, NH; Reagan Shippee- Guilford; Rose Dumaine-Jacksonville, VT; Brandi Weyers-Northfield; Ruth Morse- Hadley; Maddie Humphrey- Granby; Brigit Ferry-Greenfield; Maddie Lemal-Brown- Hamilton, NY. The team overall skated in 42 events, bringing home 18 gold medals, nine silver medals, four bronze medals, and six 4th place ribbons.

Dumaine took two gold ribbons, one silver ribbon, and one bronze ribbon.

Reagan Shippee won three silvers ribbons, and one fourth-place ribbon.

Skaters must qualify in a state games competition in order to receive an invitation to State Games of America. Skaters may also qualify by medaling in the State Games of America. Every skater from Team Greenfield qualified to attend and compete at the 2015 State Games of America in Lincoln, NE.

Skating director Suzanne McCaughtry resides in Keene, NH, and has been teaching in the area for 35 years. Stacy McIntire Chickering resides in Chesterfield, NH, and is a senior coach with FMC Team Greenfield. Both coaches attended with their students.
