Dynamic Two-O perform at Wardsboro hall

WARDSBORO- The Dynamic Two-O features Julie and Ken Olsson, who will perform at the Wardsboro Town Hall on Friday, May 17, at 7 pm. Although the duo has been performing as the Dynamic Two-O for a few short years, their musical collaboration spans back more than 25 years.

Julie and Ken Olsson attended Ithaca College. Her graduate work was at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she became a member of the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and began to pursue a career in opera. Throughout her opera career, she has been featured in “Die Fledermous,” “Suor Angelica,” “The Magic Flute,” “The Marriage of Figaro,” and “Madama Butterfly.”

Ken Olsson worked with the Tri-Cities Opera in Binghamton, NY. He was a vocal coach and accompanist at Binghamton University and became an accompanist and music director for the musical theater program at Elmira College. He went on to become an assistant conductor with Syracuse Opera and was involved in many productions including “Macbeth,” “Othello,” “LaTraviata,” “Tosca,” “Madama Butterfly” and “The Magic Flute.”

Locally, they produced “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at the Jamaica Town Hall. Ken has also served as musical director for Main Street Arts’ productions of “H.M.S. Pinafore,” “The Gondoliers,” and “High Button Shoes.”

The Olssons have also made appearances with Opera Theatre in Weston and Raylynmore Opera in Keene, NH. The Olssons recently co-directed “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” at Main Street Arts in March. Julie also presented a voice recital at the Guilford Community Church as part of the Friends of Music at Guilford concert series.
