To the Editor:

We wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our friends, relatives, and neighbors for their sympathy and help in so many different ways: beautiful cards, abundant food, donations to some of Don’s favorite charities, and absolutely gorgeous flowers.

Thank you to Reverend Douglas LaPlante for his visits, prayers, and the very special message at Don’s service.

Thanks to our talented church organist Marilyn Courser, to Don’s brother-in-law, Allan Bartlett, for his special song, “God Looked Around His Garden,” and for the specialized prayer.

Thank you to Don’s special friend David Allen for conducting the Masonic service, along with Jody Boyd as chaplain and all the Masons and Shriners who attended in Don’s honor.

Thank you to the American Legion for their very meaningful legion ceremony as each veteran personally saluted the flag that was draped over the casket, the gun salute, and the presentation of the flag.

Many thanks and appreciation go to Mark Shea and the staff of Covey and Allen Funeral Home for their personal help in every way possible.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff for their care and concern at the cancer unit of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

A special thanks goes to the hospitality committee of the Jacksonville Community Church for the very nice lunch following the service.
