Dover- AbilityPLUS, the nonprofit that provides adaptive sports programs at Mount Snow, invites everyone to join in the fun at this year’s Winterfest at Mount Snow, Saturday February 2. Winterfest includes the Ski/Ride Til You Drop-A-Thon, followed by an après party with silent and live auctions, raffle, awards ceremony, and of course food and drink, all to benefit programs that help people with disabilities improve their lives through participation in athletic and recreational programs.

The organization invites skiers/riders of all abilities to register for the Ski/Ride Til You Drop-A-Thon. The après party at The Lodge at Mount Snow begins at 5:30 pm and is free of charge for all to attend.

Winterfest is the most important annual fundraiser for AbilityPLUS at Mount Snow.

Among the AbilityPLUS programs Winterfest supports is its Soldiers For Soldiers™, a unique adaptive sports mentoring program for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who incurred life-changing injury as a result of their service to the United States.

AbilityPLUS also provides programs to area children who, due to their physical, cognitive or behavioral impairments, would otherwise not be able to participate in their school’s weekly ski/ride programs at Mount Snow.

This year’s goal is to raise $30,000 to support the AbilityPLUS mission to offer increased access to athletic and recreational opportunities for persons with physical and cognitive disabilities that will create freedom, promote independence, support inclusion, and help individuals and their families discover their full social, mental, and athletic potential.
